Gaming Ethics - We All Love Them

As gamers, whether it be on the 2D Side Scrolling MapleStory or 2.5D browser games like Divosaga. Ethics are always a part of our gaming lives. Gamers who break these ethics can and do enrage fellow gamers, often ending up in either public name-&-shame or being the target of wrath in the game itself or on the game forums.

Some ethics everybody should and would know by default:
1.) Courtesy
Be courteous to gamers even though everything is done through the internet. Gamers are still humans and everyone appreciates courteous players. The all-forgotten "Yes, please" or even a "Thank You" can and will do much for everyone and anyone.

2.) Decency
Spamming vulgarities or texticons of private parts may seem fun and harmless but you do not know how many gamers will blacklist your IGN with just a click.

3.) Space
Endless usage of server-wide text (eg Megaphone for MapleStory, World Chat for Divosaga) will make everyone and anyone lag badly and make the game experience a very bad one. Its okay telling everyone 1 time that its your birthday/your friends' birthday/your gaming partner's romantic engagement to you went well but telling everyone that "Congratulations, I leveled up again and again... HeeHee" will give you a lot of haters.

4.) Patience
Wait, and wait. Be it party expeditions, party runs, boss runs or anything involving more than one player.

5.) Higher-than-thou
Your in-game damage can be 999,999 and you are so proud of it, but to the rest of us, whatever. Theres always a higher mountain than yours.
